We are a
non-commercial private facility and a private non-profit
corporation. As owners and horse lovers, we are
proud to say that this non-profit
organization donates all membership fees plus
maintenance fees (over and above our operating expenses)
to the equine veterinary research program at Washington
State University in Pullman. Donations to The
Riding Place West are gladly accepted and will go to the
benefit of this university. Membership fees are $10.00
per year per family; memberships are open to the
horse community for the purpose of boarding.
We are located on
a 3+ acre farm setting in Grayland, WA.
All boarding is self-care; water
is available, as well as sani-cans. We
offer full-time year-round boarding, as well as temporary
board for visitors to the coast who wish to bring their
horse(s). As we have only 10 stalls,
reservations are always required. In the
summer months, 12 x 12 corrals can be made
available for temporary boarders.
Also on
site is a covered riding arena for warm-ups before
heading to the beach! For
camping accomodations locally, there are two WA State
Parks located within a couple of miles of us (one north,
one south). For nearby motels or
hotels, please check the Chamber of Commerce
sites listed below.
The beach is just
a short distance away by riding past three homes on
a quiet residential road, then left and
straight ahead, leading to a short dune trail
to 18 miles of wide, sandy beaches! The dune trail
is a dedicated county road access for foot and hoof
traffic only. To access the beach by
automobile, the entrance is just south on
the main highway for a couple of miles to
the Grayland State Park entrance.
Traveling
directions are through Aberdeen, WA and following
the signs toward Westport and then south toward Grayland
to 1044 Chester Avenue.
